Our Career Services program is dedicated to helping our students find jobs when they graduate. We offer assistance in work term and graduate employment placement, as well as skills training in employment readiness. |
|
To ensure our diploma graduates are prepared to enter the workplace, they are required to participate in the Pre-Employment Readiness Module (PERM). This is a two week program that focuses on life skills and job search skills such as goal-setting, self-esteem building, resume writing, interview techniques, and networking. Staff at Western College monitors the ongoing requirements of employers, to keep students abreast of potential employment opportunities after graduation.
We also offer support to our students both academically and financially. We have a Peer Tutoring program for any student who wishes to avail of free tutoring in his or her area of study.
Our Student Services Department provides support in helping students decide how they will finance their education. We offer information on various types of funding available. i.e. Canada and Provincial Student Loans, Human Resources Skills Development Canada Funding, Aboriginal Funding, etc.
